Sub-prime 10Q Chart: Wall Street Graph of the Week


This is an analysis of the number of times that 10-Q filings have reverenced the term 'sub-prime' during the last couple years, with the two years shown side by side. The year isn't even over yet, but the number of references to 'sub-prime' for has increased by over 541% over 2006!

Footnoted.org wrote a great article about how 'sub-prime' is referred to in the filings of numerous companies that are not in the bank, real estate, or mortgage business, such as Echostar (DISH) and Vonage (VG), companies that you would think wouldn't have anything to do with the mortgage mess.
