Even the Federal Government is Dumping Real Estate
The United States Government is selling off many of its lighthouses, an unusual form of real estate, to be sure, but what a great getaway home a lighthouse would make. It could be an inexpensive way of getting your own private island since starting prices on the government auctions are as low as $10,000.

I think your getaway home is a fantastic one. i wonder if you could raise a mortgage on a lighthouse - or maybe the federal government would finance it.
