Great Dane Companies: Denmark Stocks

Some facts about Denmark:
1. It was one of the founding members of NATO.
2. It is a net exporter of food and energy.
3. It has a balance of payments surplus.
4. It has zero net foreign debt.
5. The unemployment rate is 3.6%.

Aktieselskabet Dampskibsselskabet Torm (TRMD), which trades on NASDAQ, is a shipping company which operates oil tankers and dry bulk carriers that transports grain, coal, and iron. The stock has an extremely low P/E of 3.31 and a price to sales ratio of 4.73. They have paid annual dividends for the last five years.

Danisco A/S Unsponsored ADR (DNSCY.PK) is one of the largest producers of food products, food ingredients and other consumer products. Net profit for the latest fiscal year was up 73% over the prior year, on a slight reduction in revenues.

Danske Bank A/S Bearer Shares (DNSKY.PK) is one of the largest banks in Denmark, and was founded in 1871. Net profits for the first quarter of 2007 were up 22% on a 14% increase on net interest income.

EuroTrust A/S (EUROY.PK) owns and manages European real estate, property development businesses and wind energy farms. The company generated a net loss for the latest reported six month time frame.

H Lundbeck A/S Unsponsored (HLUKY.PK) manufacturers pharmaceutical drugs for the treatment of psychiatric and neurological disorders. Revenues for the latest fiscal year increased by 2%, however net profit was down 30% from the prior year.

Novo Nordisk A/S (NVO), which trades on the New York Stock Exchange, develops and sells diabetes care products and Biopharmaceuticals. The stock has a P/E of 28 and a P/S of 4.9. It also pays a yield of 1.1%.

Novozymes Unsponsored ADR (NVZMY.PK) is a biotech company which is involved in the development and marketing of industrial enzymes and microorganisms. Sales for the first quarter of 2007 grew by 18%, operating profit by 15%, and net profit by 30%.

Vestas Wind ADR (VWDRY.PK) makes and markets wind turbines. Revenues were up 6.3% for the first quarter of 2007, and earnings went from a loss to a profit for the quarter.
